Theme: ‘My life in 5 items or less’

Monthly Meetings of WHAM! are open to anyone with an interest in writing.

You can either let us know you’re interested in attending by using the CONTACT system on the menu above, or by leaving your name and email contact at the Library desk.

Or just turn up!

Meetings run for two hours, with tea/coffee/cake.

Bring along a short piece of your work to read aloud, to introduce yourself and your writing focus.

Each month, we set a theme as a writing spur or challenge - just in case inspiration doesn’t arrive! Then, we read our work aloud, for immediate feedback from the group. It may sound hard, but everyone else does it too - and it helps a great deal in examining where your writing strengths lie. There’s no compulsion, though: if you want to just listen, that’s fine too.

Check out some of our earlier themes by clicking on the monthly dates on the side-bar, to get a sense of what others are producing.

You’ll be surprised at how soon the writing bug hits - and how addictive writing can become!
